Grant is 2!

It's been a busy summer and hectic couple of weeks--so I'm way behind on posting this. (sorry Grant--must be part of that 2nd child curse where we have far fewer pics of you and everything you get is hand-me-down!)

It's so hard to believe that our baby is 2! We are so happy to have Grant in our family! He's such a sweet little boy and such a cutie.

Here are some bits of info about Grant:

-he can be fairly shy around new people and when he's embarrased he will cover his eyes with his arm
-it took him a while to adjust, but now he happily goes to nursery (at church)
-he loves animals and especially cuddling his grandparents' dogs
-he loves music, singing and dancing to it (the Itsy, Bitsy Spider is a current favorite)
-his favorite books are "Go Dog, Go" and "Machines at Work" (Ethan didn't mind a variety of books each night, but Grant wants both of these read to him nightly)
-he totally adores his big brother and mimics everything Ethan does
-he is somewhat accident prone (which may be a result of copying Ethan), but he often has bumps and bruises from his falling/climbing/etc. adventures.
-he's a good sleeper (hallelujah!), sleeping 11 or 12 hours each night (without waking) and naps for 2 or so hours each afternoon--and is one of those kids you can just put in their crib and they put themselves to sleep (I'm not sure I knew kids like this existed after our experience with Ethan)
-likes to sleep with his stuffed "puppy"
-some of his favorite foods are: yogurt, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, waffles, cheese, apple sauce
-he is totally in love with trains and when he hears a train whistle will say "train, mom" (it's cute because Ethan was the same way at 2)
-when he walks in the door he always says thank-you to whoever is holding it open (ie. "thank-you dada")
-he calls Ethan "bubba" (for brother)
-he also likes to sing the abc song (knows the tune and a few of the letters) and likes to count (he can do 1, 2, 3 really well and sometimes says a few of the others)--I'm pretty sure he knows up to 3 because he often hears me counting before Ethan gets in trouble!

The birthday celebrating was pretty low-key this year...but here he is blowing out his candle!
opening presents and saying "cheese"

And (non-birthday related) feeding a goat at the county fair--he loved the petting zoo!

Happy Birthday Grant! He is such a handsome little man! Too bad he & Rowan aren't in the same nursery!
