Daily happenings

Life in our home is busy!  Boys both are in school and swim lessons.  Jon is extra busy at work (he's currently working on a project where he regularly works 45-50 hour weeks). And I keep busy with all the "mom" stuff--running kids to and from school and other activities, feeding and cleaning up after 3 kids and 1 husband, homework help, church responsibilities...you get the idea!

Here's a glimpse of daily life:

Grant entertaining us with his funny personality!  Here's some things he's said recently that have made us laugh.
-after reading a book, he'll say "z end" instead of "the end"
-we were taking some change into the bank to use their coin counter, but they told us we'd have to come back later because the machine was jammed.  When we got home, Grant was telling Jon how we couldn't turn in the money because it had "jam" in it.
-he told me that when he is big he wants to be a space man with a computer to drive rockets (which according to Grant is NOT the same thing as an astronaut)
-he has an old maid game that he calls "the old lady" game

Ethan is busy as a 1st grader!   Math is his favorite subject and he excels at it.  His teacher was surprised one day as she had the date written up on the board (something like 9-12) and one student said that looks like a subtraction problem and the teacher said, yes it does but remember the big number goes first in subtraction problems (ie 12-9), and Ethan said "actually you can do it like that, it's negative 3."  (yes he even knows about negative numbers already...and he'll act as the banker during a game of monopoly and be able to count change back too)
Here's some of the work he's done so far in 1st grade
they had to create a map--and his is actually pretty accurate for the Denver zoo
He sometimes wrote "b" in place of "d" (this was back in Sept).
We like seeing how much he is learning in school!

It seems like every picture the boys take of me I'm doing laundry....(not a great pic, but shows a typical day)

At least this little girl likes to help!
Elise is busy learning to be a big girl--sitting up, rolling over, crawling, getting into everything!  And causing more work for mom!
