Family Vacation

We were in need of a family vacation and found some deals on airline tickets and a hotel--so we took a quick weekend trip to Florida in October!  The last time as a family we had flown on a plane/taken a beach trip was before Ethan was 2--so this was quite the experience for our boys!  Getting through the airport with 3 car seats, 3 kids, and backpacks for everyone at nearly midnight was a bit of an adventure--but the boys loved being in the airport and flying on the plane (and luckily flying overnight meant they slept most of the flight)!

We were staying in Cocoa Beach, but flew into Ft. Lauderdale--so we had quite the drive once we got there (flying into an alternate airport and overnight is what made our tickets so cheap).  We made the most of our long drive though, by stopping along the way at a couple beaches and drove along the coast part of the way.

The boys LOVED playing the sand and the ocean!  It's nice they're both good swimmers, because they loved body surfing!

Elise wasn't so sure about the sand and water--she was finally getting used to it the day we left!  I know she won't remember the trip, but baby toes in the sand are so cute!

Ethan and I were also able to celebrate our birthdays on our trip!

                                                                    7 years old!!

Jon and I got up early to watch the sunrise on my birthday! Great way to start 30!

We all had a great time and can't wait to do a beach vacation again!
