We've lived in our house for 3 1/2 years now and we're finally getting around to decorating the rooms more to our tastes! Thankfully Jon had off the week after Christmas--so that's how we spent our time. We moved the boys into a shared room with bunkbeds! We went for an woodsy/lodge type look. The novelty of the bunkbeds hasn't worn off yet--they still love to climb up and down playing and we struggle with bedtime. And Ethan was a bit sad to see the blue and sports leave!
Here are a couple before pics:
Below is the way it looked as a "show home" when we bought it
Working on it
We aren't completely done with it (still need a bookshelf, a dresser that matches better and possibly curtains and some other decorative type stuff--and I haven't consolidated and moved their closets over), but this is the general "after" look:
This has started a domino effect--they swapped rooms with our office, so now we need to remove wallpaper, texture the wall, and paint our office; and then we would like to paint and decorate the baby's room after that (still deciding on a look/theme for that room--and another wall border that needs to be removed).

It looks good! We never did any redecorating when we moved in either so I am doing the same thing. Unfortunately, I started in the living room (the largest room) so it is taking me a while. Lots of fun though! I have been using Pintrest.com to get some ideas.
